Service Description: Provides vital programs and services, innovative consumer products and one of the world's largest libraries for people with print disabilities * purpose is to enhance independence for people living with vision loss and to be the leader in promoting vision health * nationwide, community-based, registered charity committed to research, public education and vision health for all Canadians * supports eye doctors who provide information on CNIB services, assistance, guidance and low vision assessments from their offices

Falls Prevention: changes in vision, whether associated with the aging process or other causes, can increase the risk of falling * use of services and programs provided by CNIB can help those experiencing vision loss remain independent * orientation and mobility services may help seniors be more aware of their surroundings, thus making falls less likely

Fees: None - No charge for services * cost for technical aids/consumer products
Application: Drop-in service at Barrie office * eye doctor referral form to access CNIB services
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Anyone experiencing difficulties as a result of a vision loss * self referral, doctor's referral not necessary except for post vision loss rehabilitation services
