VON Canada SMART
(Seniors Maintaining
Active Roles Together) ®
The VON SMART program (Seniors Maintaining Active
Roles Together)® is a functional fitness program that promotes healthy aging.
SMART provides older adults with the opportunity to participate in physical
activity in a group or one-on-one setting, and addresses the gap that currently
exists between rehabilitation services and community fitness programs.
Participants can enroll themselves or be referred
by healthcare providers, family or friends.
The NSM LHIN has generously sponsored the SMART
program, as a falls prevention program.
This allows the program to be provided in the NSM LHIN at NO COST to the
participants.

SMART Congregate (group classes) Programs are offered in your area and who to
contact. Please note that any client
interested in participating must register and complete the appropriate paperwork
ahead of time, with the designated coordinator for that area.
