Psychotherapists

Psychotherapists, primarily through talk-based therapy, help people improve mental health and well-being. Psychotherapists work with individuals, couples, and families in one-on-one and group settings to bring about positive change in the client's thinking, feeling, behaviour, and social functioning. Psychotherapy may also include non-verbal activities like music, art, or play therapy.

In Ontario, regulated health professions are governed under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and health profession acts (e.g., Medicine Act, 1991).
