Guillain Barré Syndrome and CIDP - North Simcoe Muskoka

Guillain-Barré Syndrome is a rare disorder where the immune system attacks the nervous system, damaging the nerves and causing muscle weakness or paralysis.

Closely related to Guillian-Barré Syndrome, CIDP (chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy) is a chronic form of this acute disorder. Characterized by gradually increasing weakness of the legs and arms, CIDP is caused by damage to the covering of the nerves and can start at any age and in both genders.
