Psychiatrists - Midland, Penetanguishene & Area

Psychiatrists are medical doctors that assess the physical and mental condition of an individual, and diagnose and treat mental illness. Psychiatrists can order tests, prescribe medicine, provide therapy and refer individuals to medical specialists. Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) covers their services.

In Ontario, regulated health professions are governed under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA) and health profession acts (e.g., Medicine Act, 1991).
